Developed by independent Danish studio IO Interactive customized the release schedule for new content as part of the second year of support for its social stealth venture Hitman 3.
As has been announced, the Freelancer roguelike mode previously announced for spring will be postponed to the second half of this year. The extra time will be spent on further improvements and fine-tuning – initial feedback on the mode was positive.
Freelancer’s delay has also pushed the next patch for Hitman 3 – the release of version 3.11 is now expected for May 24th. In addition to additional content (see image below), the update brings ray tracing support to PC.
Due to the move of Freelancer, the Rocky map on the island of Ambrose has also been moved. The new location will appear in Hitman 3 in July of this year.
The narrative component of the Rocky map will act as a prequel to Hitman 3 and will fill in several gaps in the plot of the World of Assassination trilogy. More details will be announced shortly before launch.
Hitman 3 is available for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch (cloud format) and the Google Stadia streaming service.
In addition to the ongoing development of Hitman 3, IO Interactive is currently working on the James Bond stealth action game Project 007 and an unannounced game (supposedly about dragons).
