It says that Take-Two Interactive decided complete the trial without prosecuting two other defendants. Turpin concludes that this court case “officially closed”.

It is understood that the modder-enhanced versions of GTA III and Vice City were seen by Take-Two as a threat to sales of the then-released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition collection. with remasters of these two games and San Andreas.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released in November 2021 on PC and consoles. Ironically, the compilation disappointed fans with its performance but pleased the publisher with sales.
