When attempting to set speed records, speedrunners often skip entire sections of the story in ways not intended by the developers, which can cause some problems in the game. The writers of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor anticipated this.
As the streamer recently found out andersonjphDouble jump and homing attack on one of the planets in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will help jump over the deadly chasm, thus skipping part of the story content.
After landing in the wrong place, andersonjph received an in-game message from the developers warning of possible problems if he continued this way and suggested booting from a safe location.
This is a relatively rare situation where the game warns of unwanted actions but still allows them to be performed. “You risk ruining everything”– the authors warn in case of continuation of the passage.
A game less faithful to players’ experiments could simply kill the invader or forcefully teleport them to a safe location, while Star Wars Jedi: Survivor lets you live with the consequences of your choices.
portal PC gamer noted that a similar warning was present in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind if the player killed a critical NPC: “With the death of this character, the thread of your destiny snaps. Load a saved game to recreate the course of fate, or continue in the cursed world you created.”.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released on April 28th on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The PC version debuted not optimally – the developers have already started patching. The next update should appear before the end of the week.
