Return to the Oldest House: Development of the Action Control 2 has begun

Remedy Entertainment has announced that it has reached an agreement with publisher 505 Games to develop a sequel to the sci-fi action game Control. The corresponding announcement was published on official site Finnish studio.

The initial development budget for Control 2 is €50 million, with Remedy retaining ownership of the franchise. A post on the site also states that investments in development, marketing and post-release activities will be split equally between 505 Games and Remedy. Publishers and developers also share profits from sales equally.

Control 2 is set to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S. The game will be built on Remedy’s proprietary Northlight engine with the required toolset. The Finnish studio will be responsible for distributing the game on PC, while 505 Games will distribute the console versions.

We’re grateful to the entire community of gamers for making Control such a enduring and popular game, and we’re even more excited to present Control 2.— said Rami and Raffi Galante (Rami and Raffi Galante), heads of 505 Games.

Control was released on August 27th, 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, followed by a Nintendo Switch release on October 30th, 2020. On February 2nd, 2021 the enhanced version for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S went into the Sale.
