As has been revealed, the expansion to Resident Evil Village, announced a year earlier, is called The Winters’ Expansion and is scheduled for release on October 28th on all target platforms of the main game.
The Winters expansion includes a third-person campaign view, an additional Mercenary mode command set with new locations and characters (Chris Redfield, Carl Heisenberg, and Alsina Dimitrescu), and a Shadows of Rose story chapter.
The events of Shadows of Rose (also third-person) unfold 16 years after the Resident Evil Village finale. The main role in this story will fall to Rose Winters – the daughter of the protagonist from the main game.
Rose suffers from her “terrifying powers”, finds himself in a mysterious space within the consciousness of Megamycelium. Players must explore the twisted reality, survive and find a cure.
The Winters’ expansion is part of the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, also due out on October 28th. The online thriller Resident Evil Re:Verse (free for Village owners) also launches on the same day.
Resident Evil Village debuted in May 2021 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. In the future, the game will get support for the virtual reality headset PlayStation VR2 and macOS.
