Remedy Entertainment released a report for the last quarter, discussing future plans and the current situation regarding upcoming games. It was revealed that Control lived up to the studio’s expectations.
For the quarter ended March 31, Remedy Entertainment reported revenues of €12.6 million, up 55.9% from the same period in 2021. Operating income was €2.7 million. The operating profit margin was 21.8% ( -2.5%). The studio also noted that it has opened an office in Sweden.
Games royalties consisted primarily of Control sales, which declined year over year in line with Remedy’s expectations. In addition, it was revealed that Epic Games Publishing has not yet recovered development and marketing costs from Alan Wake Remastered, and as a result, the studio has not received royalties on the game.
Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023. A shareware co-op game codenamed Vanguard (published by Tencent) “big steps forward” – The project is in the proof-of-concept phase, as is the control branch. At the same time the game is codenamed Heron, that is “the biggest game in the Control series” (most likely a sequel), is in the concept phase and prototyping is underway.
Remedy Entertainment is preparing for several major releases in 2023-2025.
