Next week, on January 29, Realme will hold a presentation of the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ smartphones. On the eve of the event, the manufacturer revealed new details about the latest upcoming innovations.
Realme announced that the 12 Pro model will have a camera based on the Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilization. This sensor has not been announced yet and it looks like the Realme 12 Pro will be the first smartphone to come with a camera based on it. According to the insider, this sensor could be a renamed version of the LYT-600 sensor, which is used, for example, in the Oppo Reno11 5G camera. It was previously announced that the Realme 12 Pro+ will have a camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor.

Judging by the renders of the Realme 12 Pro, it will have three cameras, but we won’t see a periscope lens here. It is also reported that the smartphone camera will have a 20x zoom, which in reality could mean a telephoto lens with 2x zoom and 10x digital zoom. The company’s website says that Realme 12 Pro comes with an octa-core 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor.
Realme introduced the Realme 12 Pro+ at CES 2024 in Las Vegas in January, presenting it as the first mid-range smartphone with a periscope camera. All further details about the new products will be announced on January 29th.
