Razer has started taking pre-orders for the updated Blade 14-series laptops, which are equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen 6000HX Zen 3+ processors, DDR5 RAM and flagship GeForce RTX graphics cards. Laptop prices range from $2,000 to $3,500.
The Razer Blade 14 series, which launched early last year with Ryzen 9 5900HX processors based on the Zen 3 architecture and RTX 3080 graphics cards, has been updated with faster models in 2022. There will not only be the flagship version with Ryzen 9 6900HX on Zen 3+ and GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics, but also significantly cheaper versions with GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3060 graphics cards.
Such powerful graphics solutions supposedly could have fit into the compact chassis of 14-inch laptops due to the relatively low TGP level of all three graphics card options, not exceeding 100 watts. For example, Razer promises to overclock the GPU in the case of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with a TGP of 100W to 1260MHz, while the same GPU in larger laptops can have a TGP of 150-175W and overclock to 1590MHz.
The RAM has been upgraded from DDR4-3200 to DDR5-4800. Its volume is 16 GB. A 1 TB NVMe SSD is used as data storage. Options are available with Full HD and QHD displays at 144 and 165 Hz respectively. Pre-orders are already being taken on the company’s website, with deliveries to US customers expected from March 17th. Sales in other countries will be announced later.
