Radeon RX 6600 XT should be of interest to miners – 32 MH / s with a consumption of only 55 W

With the rise in the value of the Ethereum cryptocurrency, the last thing gamers would like to hear is the miners’ interest in the next model of the recently unveiled video card. As the portal writes VideoCardzlinking to posts from forum users Reddit, as well as our own observations, the Radeon RX 6600 XT that went on sale today may attract the attention of cryptocurrency miners.

Graphics cards based on AMD RDNA 2 architecture are usually not of great interest to miners, since they have lower performance compared to NVIDIA solutions based on Ampere architecture. However, the Radeon RX 6600 XT may be of interest to crypto miners.

Recall that the Radeon RX 6600 XT is based on a Navi 23 GPU with 2048 stream processors and is equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 video memory with a 128-bit bus width. According to the YouTube channel Dizzy Mining, which used the MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming X model for testing, the card provides Ethereum mining efficiency of 28 MH / s with a power consumption of 93 watts out of the box.

After reducing the frequency of its GPU to 1.2 GHz and increasing the frequency of the video memory to 2.2 GHz, the video card demonstrates an efficiency of 32 MH / s, while consuming only 55 W, which makes it a very good choice for mining.
