Qualcomm introduces the 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip for low-cost mid-range smartphones

Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 single-chip mobile platform, which will become the mainstay of affordable mid-range smartphones. The chip will first be used in the Redmi Note 13 Pro, which Xiaomi will unveil later this month. In fact, the new product is a simplified version of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is manufactured using 4nm process technology and includes four productive cores operating at a frequency of 2.4 GHz and four energy-efficient cores operating at a frequency of 1.95 GHz. The Adreno core of an unspecified version is used as the graphics subsystem.

The processor supports displays with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Cameras with resolutions up to 200 MP are supported, with the ability to record videos at up to 4K HDR and slow-motion videos at 120 fps in 1080p. Support for LPDDR5 RAM with a frequency of 3200 MHz and UFS 4.0 drives is also indicated.

The Snapdragon integrated in the processor It is also compatible with major satellite navigation systems, including QZSS, Galileo, BeiDou, NavIC, GLONASS and GPS (L1+L5). In addition, the processor should support the Quick Charge 4+ fast charging protocol.
