The Swiss company Prime Computer has announced the PrimeBook Circular laptop, the main feature of which is ease of upgrading and replacing defective components.

The fact is that the device has a modular design. Special FRUs contain CPU, RAM and WLAN wireless controller.
In the first stage, modules will be available on the Intel Tiger Lake platform. The available configurations are as follows:
- Intel Celeron 6305, 4GB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics, Intel AX201 Wi-Fi;
- Intel Core i5-1135G7, 8GB RAM, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, Intel AX201 Wi-Fi;
- Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16GB RAM, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, Intel AX201 Wi-Fi.
The display is 13.9 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 3K (3000 × 2000 pixels). Supports touch control. The brightness reaches 400 cd/m²2sRGB color space 100%.
An M.2 solid state drive with a capacity of up to 1 TB is responsible for data storage, which also allows for an upgrade. There’s HDMI 2.0b, Mini-DisplayPort 1.4a, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Gigabit Ethernet network port.
The laptop can run Ubuntu, Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro. The price is not communicated.
