Portal to Raytracing: The cult puzzle game Portal gets a free version with raytracing and new models

NVIDIA follows the launch of GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards and NVIDIA DLSS 3 scaling technology Portal with RTX is a ray-traced version of the legendary puzzle game Portal.

Portal with RTX will offer “enhanced with stunning ray tracing in every frame of gameplay”Handcrafted high-quality textures, high-poly models in the spirit of the original game, and 4K resolution.

It should be ray tracing in Portal with RTX “transforms every level”: Every ray in the game is traced and casts shadows, global illumination illuminates naturally darkened rooms, and so on.

Portal with RTX was developed by Lightspeed Studios on a modding platform NVIDIA RTX Remixwhich allows you to add ray tracing to games “with just a few clicks”.

Portal with RTX is expected to come to PC in November (steam). An improved version of Valve’s Puzzle will be free for all owners of the original game. Any graphics card that supports DirectX or Vulkan ray tracing will work.
