Pokemon Legends: Arceus breaks Sword and Shield record for weekly sales

The American department of the Nintendo publishing company in their official microblog uncovered Information about the first successes of the action role-playing game Pokemon Legends: Arceus on the world market.

As it became known, in a week after the official release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus managed to spread around the world in a quantity of over 6.5 million copies. At least 1.4 million of that number are Japanese retail.

For comparison, the total sales of Pokemon Sword and Shield exceeded 6 million copies in the same period. At the time, this was a record for both the franchise and the Nintendo Switch as a whole.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the same territory as Diamond and Pearl, but in a much more distant historical era. Players must catch wild Pokémon and collect the region’s first Pokédex.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus launched on January 28th exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Despite the frankly weak graphics, the journalists liked the project – an average rating of metacritical is 84 out of 100%.
