PNY announced the expansion of its DDR4 memory portfolio and announced new XLR8 Gaming Rev RGB memory modules in DDR4-3200 and DDR4-3600 standards. The manufacturer claims a high potential for manual overclocking of new products.
XLR8 Gaming Rev RGB memory modules feature massive RGB heatsinks. Claims support for all current lighting control software including ASUS Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, MSI Mystic Light Sync and ASRock Polychrome Sync.
It should be noted that although the manufacturer claims to use only the highest quality components in the XLR8 Gaming Rev RGB memory modules, the potential for manual overclocking of the presented new products is entirely down to luck. This can be explained by the fact that the company uses the services of three memory chip suppliers at the same time – Micron, Samsung and SK hynix. It is not possible to find out exactly what type of memory is used in a specific memory module prior to purchase.
PNY will sell XLR8 Gaming Rev RGB memory as single modules of 8GB or 16GB, as well as dual-channel kits totaling 16GB and 32GB. All new products support XMP 2.0 overclocking profiles. For XLR8 Gaming Rev RGB DDR4-3600 modules, the manufacturer specifies CL18 timings. DDR4-3200 modules are set to CL16 timings. Both options work with a voltage of 1.35 V.
The presented RAM modules should go on sale today. The manufacturer has not reported the suggested cost of new products.
