Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) on the Official PlayStation Blog reported about a plan to expand PlayStation Plus’ premium content libraries with games from the Yakuza crime series.

It was previously announced that the August selection of games for all PlayStation Plus subscribers will include the action RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon for PS4 and PS5. Distribution begins next Tuesday, August 2nd.
As it turns out, seven traditional parts of the PS4 franchise will populate the catalogs of the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe tariff plans before the end of this year:
- Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 – in August for PS Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe subscribers;
- Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 remasters later this year for PS Plus Premium/Deluxe subscribers;
- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life – later this year for PS Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe subscribers.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which debuted in 2020, marked the series’ transition from purebred action games to turn-based RPGs, as well as the change of the main protagonist – Ichiban Kasuga replaced Kazuma Kiryu in the lead role.
