In the space role-playing game Starfield there are many ways to make money – both fair and not so fair. But why try it when the system allows you to get rich thanks to an ordinary puddle in the middle of the street?

How noticed According to blogger Jamie Moran in his microblog, the gap is located right in front of the Shepherd’s store in Aquila City on the planet Aquila (Cheyenne system).
If you sit next to one of the puddles in front of Shepherd’s and move your cursor to the right spot in third-person mode (see video below), you can access the merchant’s entire inventory.
You can then simply take the entire contents of the inventory with you without any consequences. As if that weren’t enough, the trick can be repeated again after 24 hours of play – the goods are returned to their place.
Items acquired in this way may be sold to the same unsuspecting dealer who had them stolen from under his nose. You don’t even need a code for endless money.
The trick is revealed
This loophole was made possible because Bethesda stores trade goods in chests hidden behind textures (like in Skyrim). Shepherd’s was simply unlucky in this case – his container was too close to the edge of the map.
Starfield was released on September 6th on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox). The game received its first patch yesterday and future patches will add DLSS support and other popular features.
