PinePhone Pro Linux-powered smartphone introduced for $ 399

The Pine64 team has announced the PinePhone Pro smartphone – its new device that operates under the operating system with the Linux kernel. It is noted that when creating the device, the feedback and wishes of users of the original PinePhone model were taken into account.

The novelty is based on the six-core Rockchip RK3399S processor, operating at a clock frequency of up to 1.5 GHz. The chip includes the Arm Mali T860 graphics accelerator. The amount of RAM is 4 GB, the capacity of the eMMC flash drive is 128 GB (expandable with a microSD card).

The smartphone received a 6-inch HD + display with a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels. Protection against damage is provided by Gorilla Glass 4. The front camera is based on a 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5640 sensor. At the back is a single camera with a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor.

The equipment includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1 adapters, a GPS / GLONASS receiver, a standard headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. Dimensions are 160.8 × 76.6 × 11.1 mm, weight – 215 g. A rechargeable battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh is installed.

The device uses the operating system Manjaro Linux with KDE Plasma Mobile. Price – 399 USD.
