Phantom Fury announced – sequel to 3D Realms retro shooter Ion Fury

Developers of the Slipgate Ironworks studio have announced together with the publisher 3D Realms Phantom Fury – the sequel to the retro shooter Ion Fury (formerly Ion Maiden). The project’s debut trailer was unveiled as part of the Realms Deep Digital event.

The main character of Phantom Fury will once again be Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison from the previous game. She was pulled out of her coma, fitted with a new bionic arm, and given a grand task – to find the Demon Core artifact.

The main feature of Phantom Fury is the interactive world. The developers claim that the player will be able to interact with computers, slot machines, helicopters and more arranged in levels. The Phantom Fury Story campaign is positioned by the writers as “intense mix of intense action and road movie”.

“Fight in derelict hotels in Albuquerque, explore abandoned sites in Los Alamos, guard the streets of Chicago and more!” – this is how the developers describe the geography of the adventures of the main character.

Shelley Harrison will have over 20 weapons at his disposal, including armor-piercing shotguns, foam launchers, bowling ball bombs, and guided drones. Such an extensive arsenal must be used for its intended purpose “dreadful” the number of enemies (cyborgs, soldiers with mutations, etc.).
