According to Hirdt, Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware itself (the development studio) are betting heavily on Elden Ring and hope to expand their fan base through the project.

“Dark Souls has gone from being a very competitive niche audience to something truly massive. Not mainstream, of course, but close. And the idea behind Elden Ring is to attract even more people. “– said Hirdt.

The release of Elden Ring is announced for January – not the most profitable gaming month, but Bandai Namco Entertainment is full of confidence: “People will buy the right game like Elden Ring even on Christmas Eve.”

“I feel with [Elden Ring] we will please many, and this is the most important thing. This is what we want. We are not just entrepreneurs. We want to release something fun and unique that will appeal to millions. “– assured Hirdt.

Hirdt also added that three people are responsible for marketing Elden Ring in Bandai Namco Entertainment’s European division – this is the first time for the company (usually less).

Elden Ring will go on sale January 21, 2022 for PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. Recently, an open-world action RPG got an age rating (from 18 years old) in South Korea.
