Peak Online CS:GO has surpassed one and a half million people for the first time – all thanks to Counter-Strike 2

portal PC gamer notes that the recent announcement of Counter-Strike 2 helped online shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) update its record for the number of simultaneous players.

It is worth noting that CS:GO has not had any problems with popularity in recent weeks: over the course of 2023, the game has already several times updated the maximum online peak rate, which exceeded it in mid-March 1.4 million people.

However, after the announcement of Counter-Strike 2, CS:GO has reached a new peak of over 1.5 million players. The mark was only overcome on March 25, but on March 26 the shooter showed the best result – 1,519,457 users. Performance valued even developers.

PC Gamer journalists attribute such a surge in popularity to the fact that only CS:GO players get access to limited reviews of Counter-Strike 2. The lucky ones will be chosen, including the last time in the game.

Counter-Strike 2 is a free update from CS:GO to a version on the Engine Source 2. The release is expected for next summer: the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 tournament in May will be the last Major in CS history: be GO.
