Paramount+ renews ‘Star Trek’ series and announces premiere dates

Paramount+ has announced renewals and premiere dates for upcoming episodes of its “Star Trek” series.

For starters, “Star Trek: Discovery” has been renewed for a 5th season. Currently on hiatus, the series will return for the second half of its fourth year on February 10.

The 2nd season of “Star Trek: Picard” also got a premiere date: March 3. The series had already been renewed for a third year in advance, and is in the midst of producing new chapters.

Still unreleased, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” was renewed for its 2nd season even before its premiere, which will take place on May 5.

And to top it off, the animation “Star Trek: Lower Decks” has secured its return for a 4th season.

In addition to these, another animation, “Star Trek: Prodigy”, was already renewed since the end of last year.

“Four years ago, we promised to make ‘Star Trek’ into something it had never been before, and thanks to the incredibly hard work done by our many talented showrunners, writers and directors, along with the extraordinary support of CBS Studios and Paramount+, we are keeping our word,” Alex Kurtzman, franchise architect and executive producer, said in a statement. “Now, our current series are future-proofed as we work to build the next phase of ‘Star Trek’ programming in the years to come.”
