As promised, the French publisher Ubisoft held on June 14th Assassin’s Creed Celebration Special Broadcast in honor of the upcoming 15th anniversary of their series of pseudo-historical open-world action films.
As has been announced, Assassin’s Creed Origins Free Weekend will take place on PC and consoles from June 16 to 20 (preload has already started), and before the end of the week several tattoos based on the game will appear in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Valhalla will release new festivals, challenges and tombs, a Forgotten Saga roguelite mode (summer) and the latest chapter in Eivor’s story (by the end of the year). And today, the Interactive Tour mode is getting a standalone console release.
As for the 15th anniversary celebrations, surprises, unexpected transitions, rewards and activities are in store for fans over the coming months, with Ubisoft hosting a special event in September to talk about the future of the series.
The first Assassin’s Creed was released in November 2007. The franchise has since grown to twelve numbered installments. Currently in development are the Assassin’s Creed Infinity platform and the rumored humble Assassin’s Creed Rift.
