The Chinese company Oppo has released teasers announcing the preparation of one of the world’s first smartwatches on the latest Qualcomm hardware platform. According to reports, the gadget will debut on August 10th.
The device is based on the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor. This chip was presented last month along with the Snapdragon W5 + Gen 1 version. The architecture provides for the presence of Arm Cortex-A53 and Cortex-M55 cores, a low-power Bluetooth 5.3 wireless controller, etc.
It is noted that the Oppo Watch 3 series smartwatch will look somewhat like an Apple Watch. You get an adaptive refresh rate display and support for eSIM technology, which lets you connect to a cellular network without a physical SIM card.
According to rumors, the novelty will be able to record an electrocardiogram (ECG). Of course, the device will also be able to track changes in heart rate throughout the day and blood oxygen levels.
The Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 platform ensures a long battery life of the watch thanks to its high energy efficiency. Unfortunately, other technical characteristics are not yet announced.
