At the end of last year, the Chinese company Oppo announced its first device equipped with a flexible display, the Find N smartphone. As network sources are now reporting, Oppo is designing another smartphone with a foldable screen.
Remember that the Find N model was created in the format of a book. It is equipped with a flexible 7.1-inch WUSXGA (1792 × 1920 pixels) display that folds into the body. On the outside there is an additional 5.49-inch display with a resolution of 1972 × 988 pixels.
The new Oppo flexible-screen smartphone will reportedly be made in the form of a clamshell. The device has to compete with devices like Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Moto Razr and Huawei P50 Pocket.
The novelty will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor. It will be an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which includes eight processing cores clocked at up to 3.0 GHz, a new generation Adreno graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem.
The official presentation of Oppo’s clamshell smartphone will take place in the third or fourth quarter of this year. The price is expected at $750.
