The head of OpenAI Sam Altman (Sam Altman) said that one of the goals of his current tour of European cities is to find a place to open a new office in the EU. According to the entrepreneur, Poland is one of the priority countries.

This was stated by the head of OpenAI in an interview when answering a question about the possible opening of European offices. “We plan to set up a research and development office in Europe, not a management office”said Altman. Finding a place for such a branch is, in his opinion, one of the goals of his European tour, which he is currently on.
According to Bloomberg, Altman sees the “talent density” in the country where the office will open as a key factor in the location choice. Poland is definitely an attractive location for the IT industry. Major IT campuses of companies such as Alphabet, P Morgan Chase & Co and Visa are located here, as well as CD Projekt SA, the publisher of cult games such as The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077.
Altman also said that he supports Europe’s intention to promote the shaping of a global policy to regulate the activities of AI companies. Previously speaking to US Senators, the head of OpenAI also discussed areas related to AI where he supports regulation, specifically labeling neural network generated content and preventing disinformation.
Altam is also expecting a visit to Paris and the UK. In addition, the company boss said that the recently released mobile version of ChatGPT has resulted in a small but visible increase in the number of subscriptions for the paid Pro version of the service.
