Elden Ring players have reported remote save hacks. The attacker invades the victim’s world, after which the character suddenly dies and begins to respawn outside the map. This puts the player in a loop that is very difficult to get out of.
In the community on Reddit users exchange problem solving. Some manage to kill the Elden Ring process with Alt + F4 before respawning. After restarting, the game will take a little longer to load the data, giving you time to open the map and choose a different spawn point.
Other players are advised to take Steam offline, load the save in Elden Ring, and at the time of loading after the first death, press Alt + F4 to exit. The next time you start the game itself, the character will be moved to a safe place.
So far, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have not commented on the situation. Users also recalled that similar hacks have been included in other games from the company since Dark Souls 3 (by the way, the game servers of the series are still not included after the January hack).
Elden Ring was released on February 25th on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. Total shipments and digital sales of the project as of March 14 (just 17 days later) surpassed 12 million copies.
