OnePlus has announced that it will be adding a new model to its Nord family of mid-range smartphones next week. Dubbed Nord CE 2 5G, the device will be a simplified version of Nord 2 and the successor to last year’s Nord CE. The new product will be launched on Thursday, February 17th.
According to OnePlus, the Nord CE 2 5G offers users the best features of the Nord 2 at a lower price. According to the official video teaser, the novelty will have a 3.5mm audio jack, support for fast 65W wired charging and the ability to expand internal storage up to 1TB using microSD cards. It is also clear from the video that Nord CE 2 will get a cutout for the front camera in the top left corner of the screen.
The image posted by OnePlus shows the main camera block with four holes. However, this does not mean that they correspond to four sensors – there is an LED flash in one of the holes.
According to previous leaks, the Nord CE 2 5G will be based on the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G chipset. It is reported that the novelty is a slightly modified OPPO Reno7 SE 5G with updated cameras. This is not surprising since OnePlus is a sub-brand of OPPO.
The cost of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is not yet known, but its predecessor cost 329 euros at launch. It is likely that the novelty will have about the same price.
