Xiaomi President Lu Weibing today announced the upcoming presentation and release of the flexible smartphone Mix Fold 3, which will take place in August. He reported this when answering a question on the social network Weibo, where the latest upgrade of the Xiaomi factory was discussed.

The officially launched new smart factory will start mass production of the Mix Fold 3. It looks like the factory went through a number of technological upgrades to make the Mix Fold 3 both slimmer and more robust. And as expected, cameras from Leica will be used.
The previous model, the Mix Fold 2, launched last August and was just 11.2mm thick when folded. This caused a lot of excitement among consumers, but apparently Xiaomi managed to make the Mix Fold 3 even thinner.
There is bad news: according to recent rumours, the Mix Fold 3 will most likely not be released outside of China like its predecessor. In general, Chinese manufacturers rarely take the risk of bringing their folding models onto the market outside of their market – this has been the trend in recent years. In this situation, only Samsung wins and consumers, by and large, remain the losers.
The Mix Fold 3 is rumored to have a front camera integrated into the main folding screen, a 5x periscope zoom lens on the rear, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and support for 50W wireless charging.
