NVIDIA partners will ramp up production of GeForce RTX 2060

NVIDIA partners will ramp up production of GeForce RTX 2060 12GB by the end of December, but gamers are unlikely to get the cards

Finding a GeForce RTX 2060 12GB video card for sale will not be easy until at least the second half of December, informs PC Gamer… With reference to an anonymous source, the site indicates that “production volumes of this model by partners [NVIDIA] will be increased by the beginning of next month “… At least that’s what NVIDIA itself hopes for.

Although the GeForce RTX 2060 itself is hardly an ideal choice for a gamer, especially given the three-year-old graphics chip that underlies it, it’s better than nothing. However, buyers are still deprived of this choice, although the actual start of sales of the video card took place on December 7. Journalist of the same PC Gamer tried to find deals from major US and UK retailers Newegg, Best Buy, Micro Center, B&H, Scan, Overclockers, Box and Ebuyer, but ended up with nothing.

According to the statement, the video card will become more affordable only after the New Year holidays. However, it is not yet clear whether the GeForce RTX 2060 12GB will actually be able to fall into the hands of gamers. Neither NVIDIA nor its partners have announced the recommended cost of this accelerator. According to the only comment on this matter from NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 2060 12GB is positioned as a premium version of the model with 6 GB of memory and this will be reflected in its price. The company also added that prices for it will depend on the region of sale. It looks like NVIDIA never planned to put any suggested price tag for the GeForce RTX 2060 12GB.

NVIDIA’s partners have already picked up this statement. So, one of them is anonymous in conversation with Tom’s hardware confessedthat he will focus on selling this accelerator to miners, not gamers. With this attitude and the generally not entirely clear launch of the GeForce RTX 2060 12GB model, no increase in its production in the coming weeks will make it more affordable. At least if you are not a miner.
