The Nubia brand, created by the Chinese company ZTE in 2012 and became an independent structure in 2015, designs several smartphones at once on the future flagship Qualcomm processor. Information about the devices was at the disposal of network sources.
We are talking about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which previously appeared under the name Snapdragon 898. It is assumed that the product will receive eight cores: a powerful Cortex-X2 node with a frequency of 3.0 GHz, three productive Cortex-A710 cores with a frequency of up to 2.5 GHz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.79 GHz. Graphics processing will be handled by the Adreno 730 accelerator.
It is reported that Nubia plans to release three smartphones on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform. Two of them appear under the codenames NX679J and NX709J: they are expected to enter the commercial market under the names Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro, respectively. These will be gaming-grade devices with a high refresh rate and special features for gamers.
Another projected flagship Nubia has the code NX701J: presumably, this device will receive the commercial name Nubia Z40. The smartphone will be aimed at ordinary users who need a powerful device.
It is worth noting that the Nubia Red Magic 6 smartphones debuted in March this year. Thus, the announcement of Nubia Red Magic 7 devices can be expected in the first quarter of 2021.
