Nothing has confirmed its intention to release the Phone (2a) smartphone, which it announced on its website, as well as in a new video on YouTube, in which it also talked about its plans for the near future. Rumors about a new smartphone appeared at the end of last year. The manufacturer also decided to launch a new SDK, with which third-party developers will be able to integrate their applications with Nothing Glyph proprietary lighting.
“With Phone (2a), we’ve doubled down on the core needs of users – performance, camera, etc.”, said Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis. He also added that the future smartphone will receive some of the most popular features of flagship models among users. However, he did not directly say that Phone (2a) will become a more affordable version of Phone (2), but with a high degree of probability we can assume that this is exactly the case.
Despite factual confirmation that at least one new Nothing smartphone will launch this year, nothing has been said about the device’s specifications. Previously, information appeared that the device would receive a dual main camera and a simplified version of the Glyph backlight. It is also assumed that the hardware basis of the new product will be the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 microprocessor. Other rumors indicate that the Nothing Phone (2a) will be equipped with an OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the main camera will have a 50 MP sensor, and the price of the smartphone will be less than €400 .
Since Nothing has no plans to attend the annual MWC show in Barcelona at the end of the month, it’s hard to say when the Phone (2a) will be officially unveiled.
In addition to this, the vendor announced the appearance of new models of wireless headphones in the CMF by Nothing line. We are talking about the CMF Buds and CMF Neckband Pro models, the characteristics of which will be revealed closer to the official launch.
