To mark the fifth anniversary of the Switch console, Nintendo has announced the themed Switch OLED in the style of the game Splatoon. However, many fans of the company did not expect that from her – they hoped that the Japanese manufacturer would introduce a completely new console. But that doesn’t appear to be happening this fiscal year.
Until the end of the current fiscal year (ending March 31, 2023), the company does not plan to launch a new set-top box. Bloomberg reporter Takashi Mochizuki shared this information, citing the Nikkei issue that recently conducted an interview with Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.
Given the age of the Switch, it would be handy to update the Nintendo console lineup. However, given the Japanese manufacturer’s recent unsatisfactory report, in which it points to problems with the supply of components for the production of Switch, it is not surprising that the company is in no hurry to announce new consoles.
According to the Nintendo Life portal, despite rumors that Nintendo might raise the prices of current models of its Switch consoles, the company itself says it has no such plans.
