Following the September report, Nintendo launched a more expensive expansion pack that includes the N64 and Mega Drive game library, plus access to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons add-on. When asked about subscriber retention and whether Nintendo plans to add additional content to the service, Furukawa said he thinks it’s important to continue adding value to Switch Online.
“Of course, there are customers whose subscriptions expire and then aren’t renewed, so we think it’s important to continue releasing games that not only allow players to continue enjoying multiplayer, but also improve their overall experience. This year we will continue to expand our services and create new content for our customers.”said Furukawa.
Nintendo is rumored to be adding Game Boy and Game Boy Color games to Switch Online.
Remember that Nintendo Switch Online comes with access to retro games, a number of perks and the ability to play online.
