Nike launches the .SWOOSH NFT platform

Despite the overall decline in the cryptocurrency and NFT assets market, Nike is not despairing and will be looking into this area. To implement the intended manufacturer announced the launch of the .SWOOSH Web3 platform where you can buy, sell and swap virtual clothes and shoes.

The company hasn’t given any details yet, but noted that the assets published on the platform can be used in digital games and “other immersive environments”. Registration for .SWOOSH begins November 18, but the first digital collection won’t be released until January next year, when the company allows content creators to enter a contest where winners can work with Nike to create virtual goods create and receive royalties from their sales .

Last year, the company acquired RTFKT Studios, a developer of virtual NFT sneakers “for the metaverse.” At the time, the initiative appeared to be a profitable strategic investment as the cryptocurrency industry was on the rise – NFT sales peaked in January. Germany’s Adidas raked in around $22 million in NFT sales in December last year, despite the digital assets being sold alongside actual clothing items.
