News about the next Mortal Kombat will bypass the upcoming fighting tournament EVO 2022

Mortal Kombat series co-author Ed Boon on his personal microblog pushed Don’t wait for the next installment in the legendary fighting game franchise to be announced at the EVO 2022 esports tournament, taking place from August 5th to 7th.

Recall that in a recent publication, the organizers of EVO 2022 (Evolution Championship Series) mentioned that the event would not be without news from major companies, among which Warner Bros. Games is the publisher of Mortal Kombat.

In response to a tweet from IGN (already AWAY) that the EVO 2022 will be visited “Developer” Mortal Kombat, Boon hastened to clarify: There are no Mortal Kombat-only announcements in the tournament schedule.

“Sorry. It’s time for Street Fighter and other great fighting games to get out in the sun! Let’s enjoy!” Boon advised subscribers on Twitter.

The new part of Mortal Kombat has not been announced, but is rumored to be the next NetherRealm project. In July 2021, the studio confirmed they had moved from Mortal Kombat 11 to their upcoming game.
