The full-fledged announcement of the fighting game Mortal Kombat 12 seems to be very close: after the first teaser last week, the developers of the NetherRealm studio presented another short video with a hint.

The new teaser, titled It Is Almost Time, spans just 16 seconds and features the seconds hand running across the dial. After going through 9, 10 and 11, the pointer jumps over 12 and immediately lands on 1.
The video is full of symbolism. Released in 2011, Mortal Kombat was the ninth numbered game in the series and its reboot. Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11, which will follow in 2015 and 2019, are continuations of the story that began in the “Nine”.
It looks like the Mortal Kombat franchise is about to get a fresh reboot. And since the arrow in the teaser misses the number 12, we can assume Mortal Kombat 12 won’t be called the next numbered game in the series.
As for the title of the video, “Time’s Almost Here,” the developers are almost certainly clearly alluding to upcoming news about the game. Rumors have it that the show could take place in the PlayStation Showcase.
A massive gaming presentation from Sony Interactive Entertainment has yet to be officially confirmed, but rumors abound. According to the latest data, the event is scheduled to take place on May 22-25.
Mortal Kombat 12 (for lack of a definitive title) has been confirmed by Warner Bros. CEO. Discovery by David Zaslav in February. Then the head mentioned that the game will be released this year.
