Sony Interactive Entertainment Publishing and Santa Monica Studio Developers Presenting PlayStation Showcase 2021 confirmed the name of the new God of War and unveiled the first full-fledged trailer for the game.
As expected, the next part of the cult series of slashers will be called God of War Ragnarok. The franchise veteran Eric Williams is leading development, while Cory Barlog has moved on to other projects.
The unveiled video lasts a little over three minutes and shows a slightly aged Kratos with his son Atreus, who has matured by a couple of years, embarking on a new exciting adventure.
The developers do not disclose all their maps, but they have already confirmed two antagonists (Thor and Freya), the appearance of Odin in the plot, as well as Vanaheim, Svartalfheim and Asgard as locations to visit.
As for the timing of the release of new information as part of the PlayStation Showcase 2021, the release of God of War Ragnarok is still expected in 2022 simultaneously on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
