The Chinese publisher NetEase Games announced about founding his first American studio. It’s called Jackalope Games and it’s located in the Texas city of Austin.

It is reported that Jackalope Games will be developing new and exciting online games for PC and consoles as an in-house studio of NetEase Games. The company will fully fund the team’s debut project.

Although Jackalope Games is NetEase Games’ in-house studio, it must operate independently and have creative autonomy in developing and publishing games.

Jackalope Games is led by industry veteran Jack Emmert, who has worked on City of Heroes, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online. According to the developer, NetEase Games is the best place for him and his team.

Emmert isn’t the first industry veteran to run NetEase Games. In January, Tokyo-based Nagoshi Studio was announced, with yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi as its director.
