As previously reported, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have received a simplified design that is an evolution of the appearance of the previous generation models. Most of the changes concern the removal of the usual rear camera hump that the Galaxy S22 had, and now the camera lenses individually only protrude slightly above the rear surface.

In terms of specs, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ feature 6.11-inch and 6.6-inch Infinity-O-AMOLED displays, respectively. The resolution of the displays is 2340 × 1080 pixels (Full HD+), with the pixel density differing due to different screen sizes – 425 or 393 ppi for the Galaxy S23 or Galaxy S23+.

Both models have an automatically adjustable screen frequency from 48 to 120 Hz, an always-on display and support for HDR10+ technology. The displays are protected from scratches and bumps by durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The Galaxy S23 series smartphones are based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 + models will receive 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and in the case of the S23 and 256 or 128 or 256 GB of flash memory 512GB in the S23+. There is no microSD card slot. All Galaxy S23 models for the European market support two physical NanoSIM cards and also support eSIM.

The Galaxy S23 and S23+ have a 50 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, 23 mm equivalent focal length (EFF), 85° field of view and Dual Pixel autofocus. On the back of the smartphone there is also a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, 13mm EGF and a 120° field of view, complemented by a 10-megapixel camera with optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture, 69 mm EGF and a field of view of 36°. Both models are equipped with a 12-megapixel front camera with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, 25mm EGF and an 80° viewing angle.

The Galaxy S23 has a 3900mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging support, while the Galaxy S23+ has a 4700mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. Both models support 10W wireless charging. Smartphones also support reverse wireless charging for accessories such as wireless headphones.

Smartphone specs also include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and dual Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo speakers. In addition, the S23+ has a UWB module.
