Musk announced a “general amnesty” on Twitter – many previously suspended accounts will be restored

According to the new head of Twitter Elon Musk (Elon Musk), the company will significantly increase the scope of recovering blocked accounts. The corresponding reform will be implemented starting next week – this is the largest revision of the policy on moderation of content on the social network.

In response to a poll Musk started, about 72% of participants voted for a “general amnesty” for suppressed accounts if it can be proven that their users “not broken the law or engaged in spamming“. Since buying Twitter, the billionaire has restored a number of suspended accounts, including that of former US President Donald Trump, as well as other lesser-known personalities.

After taking office on Twitter, Musk, whose views on many issues differ from those of the social network’s top executives, immediately fired most executives and began a series of controversial reforms related to the company’s operating principles. Note that personnel issues are still being resolved: just the other day the head of the company’s French department left his post, according to some reports, a new stage of downsizing is expected, although some employees were laid off, on the contrary , were asked to return.
