MSI has announced that it is preparing a second motherboard based on specifications for Intel’s new ATX12VO PC performance standard. The new product from the Taiwanese manufacturer is based on the entry-level Intel H610 chipset and is said to work with Alder Lake S processors. According to the manufacturer, the board was primarily developed for system integrators.

The MSI Pro H610M 12VO will be one of the cheapest motherboards in the MSI portfolio based on the Intel H610 chipset. The company did not share detailed technical characteristics of the novelty, but based on the name it is presented in the Micro-ATX form factor. For the manufacturer, this model will be the second motherboard to support the new ATX12VO power supply standard. The first was the Z590 Pro 12VO unveiled by MSI last year.

It is currently unknown what price will be announced for the Pro H610M 12VO model. Most likely, the price will be slightly higher than traditional motherboards based on the same chipset but equipped with standard 24-pin power connectors. The price range for these models is from $99 to $115. Tom’s hardware

The ATX12VO (“12V Only”) standard excludes the use of 3.3 and 5 volt circuits from the power supply, leaving only 12 volt lines. Further voltage conversion and power distribution is handled directly by the motherboard itself, which can perform this task more efficiently.
