MSI introduces AMD B650 motherboards for Ryzen 7000 processors

MSI has officially announced motherboards based on AMD B650 chipsets designed for Ryzen 7000 processors. The new products join the ranks of the MPG, MAG and PRO series brands. All boards support DDR5 RAM up to 6600 MHz (overclocked).

The MPG series includes the MPG B650 Carbon WIFI and MPG B650 Edge WIFI models. They got M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 connectors for NVMe SSDs. The manufacturer points out that the boards generally offer up to four M.2 slots and are also equipped with six SATA III connectors. Graphics cards can be content with PCIe 4.0 x16 slots.

The MPG B650 Edge WIFI model is made in Mini-ITX form factor and is designed to build a compact gaming system.

The MAG series has been expanded to include the MAG B650 Tomahawk WIFI and MAG B650M Mortar WIFI. MSI highlights the use of reinforced power phases, rated for a current of 80A, as well as two M.2 connectors equipped with cooling radiators.

PRO series motherboards are primarily designed for office systems. The series includes the PRO B650-P WIFI and PRO B650M-A WIFI models. Both models are equipped with heat sinks, both received two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots for solid state drives.

The manufacturer indicates that the presented motherboards of the MPG, MAG and PRO series for Ryzen 7000 processors use power subsystems that use up to 19 power phases built according to the 16 + 2 + 1 scheme. The equipment of the new products also includes 2.5 Gigabit network adapters and Wi-Fi 6E modules. The boards received USB 3.2 Type-C Gen2×2 (20Gb/s) connectors. Support for AMD EXPO and A-XMP RAM overclocking profiles is also announced for all boards.
