MSI recently expanded its GeForce RTX 40 series with a total of 20 GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti gaming slim variants. Their main feature is their more compact cooling systems compared to gaming models. Now the manufacturer has announced the release of the GeForce RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 graphics cards Lean gaming.

In total, MSI introduced six variants of the GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming Slim and RTX 4080 Gaming Slim, including versions in black and white. Options are offered with and without factory overclocking of the GPU. Overclocked cards are called Gaming X Slim.
The new products are significantly more compact than the previously released Gaming Trio (X Trio) models – they only take up three expansion slots in the PC case. The GeForce RTX 4090/4080 Gaming Trio variants have dimensions of 337 × 140 × 77 mm. The dimensions of the new versions of the GeForce RTX 4090/4080 Gaming Slim are 322 × 136 × 62 mm. Additionally, new items are lighter. The weight of the GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming Slim is 1777 instead of 2170 grams, and the GeForce RTX 4080 Gaming Slim cards have lost from 1876 to 1673 grams.
In addition, the GeForce RTX 4090/4080 Gaming Slim graphics cards received new rear reinforcement plates – they have a slightly increased perforation area to ensure more efficient airflow.
Technically speaking, the GeForce RTX 4090/4080 Gaming Slim (X Slim) cards do not differ from their predecessors, the Gaming Trio (X Trio). According to the VideoCardz portal, the GPU operating frequencies and power consumption indicators of the new versions remained unchanged compared to previous versions.
