MSI has overclocked the flagship Spatium M570 Pro SSD to 14 GB/s, up from 12 GB/s earlier this year

MSI announced that it has boosted the read speeds of its flagship PCIe 5.0 SSD Spatium M570 Pro to 14GB/s. This drive was originally unveiled at CES 2023 earlier this year. Then the manufacturer announced speeds of up to 12 GB/s for it.

The speed boost for the Spatium M570 Pro is said to have been achieved through close collaboration with Phison, who supply the advanced PS5026-E26 flash memory controllers for this SSD series. However, it is very likely that it would not have been possible without the use of faster flash memory. The media write speed has also been increased from the original 11.8 GB/s to 12 GB/s.

In addition, to ensure reliable and stable operation of the novelty, the company equipped it with a huge heatsink by SSD standards with a small fan, as you can see in the photo above.

It should be noted that MSI is not the first manufacturer to release a PCIe 5.0 SSD with speeds up to 14GB/s. Previously, TeamGroup announced that it had developed an SSD with the same speed rating. However, it is based on InnoGrit Corporation’s innovative IG5666 controller. Previously, Adata also showed the M.2 PCIe 5.0 drive with read speeds up to 14GB/s. It uses a Silicon Motion SM2508 controller.

MSI will launch the Spatium M570 Pro at Computex 2023 next week. It is likely that other manufacturers will also present similar solutions at this event.
