MSI has introduced a new M.2 2280 NVMe NVMe SSD, Spatium M570. It features a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and is designed to work with the AMD Socket AM5 platform, which will be the first to support PCIe 5.0 drives. Spatium M570 SSDs will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB versions.
The novelty uses the Phison PS5026-E26 controller and 3D TLC NAND flash memory chips. The manufacturer of the latest MSI does not state this. Sequential read speeds of over 12 GB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 10 GB/s are specified for new products.
According to a screenshot of a test of a Spatium M570 provided by the company, the novelty was able to provide sequential write speeds of up to 12,351 MB / s and sequential read speeds of up to 10,119 MB / s. At the same time, random read and write performance was 1.3 million and 1.16 million IOPS, which is significantly higher than current PCIe 4.0 drives.
MSI Spatium M570 SSDs will come with heatsinks. The manufacturer did not specify when it would start selling new products and how much they would cost.
