AMD held a similar event in early August. Then the company’s partners showed motherboards based on the older X670 and X670E chipsets. AMD Product Marketing Manager Don Waligroski is expected to attend the event in October.

Ryzen 7000 processors will go on sale on September 27th. On the same day, sales of motherboards based on the X670E and X670 chipsets will begin. Models of boards based on the B650 and B650E chipsets will appear on store shelves no earlier than October.

The main difference between the Extreme boards is PCIe 5.0 support for graphics cards and NVMe SSDs. Boards based on the X670 and B650 chipsets have optional PCIe 5.0 support and depend on the implementation of a specific board model.
