As part of the financial report for the fourth quarter of 2022, the CEO of Warner Bros. discovery David Zaslav incidentally dropped the title and release date of the next game from NetherRealm Studios.
“There is much more to come, including the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – games with a release this year and ambitious release forecasts.”Said Zaslav. The capture of the moment can be seen in the video below.
Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon shied away from answering a question about NetherRealm Studios’ next game for months, and in the end the surprise was ruined by the parent company’s CEO.
Mortal Kombat 11 debuted in April 2019 and has since sold over 12 million copies worldwide. In July 2021, NetherRealm confirmed they had switched to their upcoming game.
