“More work to do”: User reviews of Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam are “very positive” for the first time, but CD Projekt RED won’t stop there

The launch of the ambitious action role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020 was not the most successful: the technical condition of the game and the opinion of fans about it left a lot to be desired. As time went by, CD Projekt RED began to return the fans’ favor and recently the developers got a new reason to celebrate.

How noticed Marcin Momot, Community Manager at CDPR, said: The overall rating of Cyberpunk 2077 user reviews on Steam has recently changed from “Mostly Positive” to “Very Positive” (over 80%). This happened for the first time in two and a half years after the release.

Momot thanked the fans for that “Recognition of the hard work of the team over the years”. Pawel Sasko, Cyberpunk 2077 quest director, too spoke out: “Thank you everyone for your reviews! I don’t take any of this for granted, we still have a lot of work to do to win back your trust.”.

Earlier, the head of development for Cyberpunk 2077 (since May 2021) and the addition of Phantom Liberty, Gabriel Amatangelo, spoke about the return of fan confidence. According to him, the board of CD Projekt has given his team complete freedom “Fix Everything”.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, while Phantom Liberty will be available on September 26, 2023 only for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series S. Pre-Release The expansion will increase the system requirements of the main game to reflect the associated changes.
