Moon Knight: New Marvel series gets first trailer and premiere date

Marvel has released the poster and first trailer for the Moon Knight series, starring Oscar Isaac (“Star Wars”). The preview focuses on the mental confusion experienced by the protagonist, who does not know if his dreams are real and is afraid to sleep.

In his comic book origins, Marc Spector was a mercenary who was left to die during a mission in Egypt, where he had a vision with the Egyptian god of the moon, which gave him strength and changed his life. Like Batman, he appears in public as a millionaire and proves to be a master of disguise, also working as a regular taxi driver to obtain information from the criminal underworld. But the trailer doesn’t show any of that, showing the central character as a tormented employee of a museum with an Egyptian exhibit, unsure if he’s going crazy or if he might be being possessed by the spirit of Spector and Moon Knight.

The series is in the hands of writer-producer Jeremy Slater, who created “The Exorcist” and “The Umbrella Academy” (also about superheroes, on Netflix), and managed to get the project off the ground after a decade of development by other writers. .

The team also includes directors Mohamed Diab (“Clash”), one of the great recent revelations of Egyptian cinema, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, specialists in independent horrors such as the award-winning and cult “Spring” (2014) and “The Worship” (2017).

In addition to Isaac, the cast includes actors Ethan Hawke (“Boyhood”) and Gaspard Ulliel (“Saint Laurent”) as antagonists and May Calamawy (“Ramy”) in an undisclosed role.

The video and poster reveal that the premiere will take place on March 30 on the Disney+ platform.
