In February 2021, dataminer and modder Lance McDonald released an unofficial 60fps patch for gothic action game Bloodborne. Two and a half years later, the patch was ported to the retail PS5.

As in my microblog informed McDonald himself, this was made by Australian modder Illusion, known for his work improving console game performance (see his channel). on Youtube).
IN your message Illusion reported that it was possible to run the McDonald patch on a hacked (firmware 3.00-4.51) but fully retail PS5. In the past, how the patch worked was demonstrated using the console devkit as an example.
“My Bloodborne 60fps patch has been ported to work as part of ongoing PlayStation 5 hacking advances. A true retail PS5 running Bloodborne at a steady 60fps at full 1080p.”explained McDonald.
The McDonald’s resolution (X) statement posted by Illusion on Twitter does not allow verification of the video (only in 720p), but shows a stable 60 fps. The modder showed the first section of the city of Yharnam.
It is worth noting that McDonald himself recently released a video showing Bloodborne gameplay on PS5 in 1080p resolution at 60fps, but did not specify the console model and how such performance can be achieved.
Bloodborne was released for PS4 in March 2015. The recently released RPCSX emulator by the RPCS3 development team was even able to launch the game, but it’s not quite that far beyond the black screen.
